Repeated Bouts With Tonsillitis And Tonsil Stones

Tonsil stones have made me not want to go anywhere. I want to avoid all social gatherings because I know that my breath is not the freshest.

I started having tonsillitis when I was about eight years old and had recurring bouts approximately 2-3 times a year for many years. The number of times diminished over the years thru my college years. I remember the last time I had what I thought was tonsillitis turned out to be strep throat.

What I didn't know was these recurring episodes were destroying me socially. I knew all people reacted to me whenever I opened my mouth, but I didn't understand why.

I basically didn't have good oral hygiene habits. I always brushed my teeth once a day but at night I generally didn't growing up.

But even when I brush twice a day now, it doesn't appear to make any difference. I still get the same reaction from people.

I discovered about five years ago via the internet that I have tonsil stones. However, all the so called remedies have not worked for me. What I truly believe will work is laser resurfacing but I am stuck trying to find an experienced doctor to perform the surgery.

I know I can't just go to an any ENT and ask for this procedure, because the ones in my area are not familiar with this procedure.

The ENTs that I have gone to over the years have only recommended tonsillectomy as a cure.

I am looking for a doctor that is skilled with this procedure. Please help. I'm so close to the answer for which I have searched for decades now.



Gary's Response: I might be able to help you, but first I need to know where you're located (city/state). It would also be helpful to know how many miles, if any, you'd be willing to travel to have a procedure done.

Here's another consideration. Have you ever spoken with an ENT about having your tonsils removed?
