The most current thinking among professionals in this area is that bad breath does not originate in the respiratory tract or in the stomach. However, that is not to say that it never happens.
I think your next step, particularly in light of the discomfort you've been feeling in your stomach, is to see a doctor or medical professional of some type. I'm not a medical professional, but I can see, based on what I've read, that an infection or illness of some kind might cause the problems with bad breath you've been experiencing as well as the discomfort.
I don't know if seeing a doctor is easily accomplished in the rural area in which you live, but I think it's important that you make every possible effort to do this.
Please keep us posted as to what's going on, Kobel.

CRONIC BAD BREATH by: Anonymous
Dear Gary,
Thanks very much for your prompt reply. God bless you abundantly.
I drink 3 liters of water per day. My teeth and gums do not bleed as I brush my teeth.
As I guess the problem is emanating from my throat or stomach. My bad breath is noticeable from 2 meters. I checked my posterior tongue, but there is no bad smell in it. I checked my tonsils also, and I didn't get bad smell, too.
I think the problem is from inside of the respiratory tract.
I read in some web sites that stomach reflux also leads to this bad breath. To let you know, I have changed the foods that I used to eat before.
I am also feeling a discomfort in the stomach.
Please help me with the right advice.
God bless you

Bad Breath Help by: Gary
Hi Kobel,
As I read your post, several things came to mind:
1) Since you're already brushing after each meal, are you drinking plenty of water? Even if you think you are, you may want to increase the amount and especially how often you drink it. A dry mouth could be contributing to or causing your bad breath. This is especially true if the toothpaste or other oral hygiene products you use contain substances known to cause dry mouth.
2) Are your teeth and gums healthy? Do your gums bleed when you brush? Even though you brush three times a day, you could still have problems with tooth decay or gum disease. Either of these could contribute to bad breath.
3) If you still have your tonsils, is it possible that you have tonsil stones? For more information on tonsil stones and how they cause bad breath, please refer to the articles on our Tonsil Stones page.
And if it doesn't cost too much for shipping to the Sudan, I strongly recommend the TheraBreath product line available elsewhere on this site. TheraBreath Tooth Gel and Oral Rinse have a great success rate, especially where other products fail or even make bad breath worse.
Anyway, those are my suggestions, Kobel. As you review the other pages on the site, please let me know if you have any questions.
